Governors

From the Chair of Governors

Hello, I'm Jeremy Croucher, Chair of Governors here at Buckingham. The governing body looks after the care and management of the school, its finances and the way it works within the national curriculum. Working closely with the Head Teacher, the senior management team and the school staff, our aim is to make sure that all the decisions we make are for the benefit of the children and staff at Buckingham.

Currently we have eighteen governor positions. The term of office for all usis four years.First and foremost are our sixparent governors. These are parents and carers of children currently at the school. Parent governors areappointed by election. Then we have four community governors. These are appointed by the governing body itself and are generally people who live or work close to the school. There are also four Local Education Authority governors. These are appointed by the Local Education Authority and can include local councillors, people with related education experience etc. And last but by no means least we have four staff governors. The headteacher is always one of these. Staff governors are also appointed by election.

We're a friendly bunch of people who share the common aim of helping to make Buckingham Community Middle School the wonderful place it is to learn and work. We are always happy to hear from parents and carers. So, if there's ever anything you'd like the governors to help you with, pleasecontact us via the school.
